James Golan is a portfolio manager on the Large Cap Growth team at William Blair. In addition to his role as a portfolio manager, he is also a research analyst covering U.S. large-cap technology and resources. From 2000 until taking on his current role in 2005, James served as a research analyst focusing on financial, technology, industrial, and resource companies. He joined William Blair in 2000. Previously, James worked at Citigroup Global Asset Management, where he was a global research team leader for the telecommunications sector and a key member of the team that devised valuation metrics for standardizing the analysis of domestic and international companies.James began his career at Kemper Financial as a research analyst covering telecommunications, technology, energy, industrial, food, and beverage companies. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. Education: B.A., economics, DePauw University; M.B.A., finance, Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
