CIBC Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management is on the lookout for a new hedge fund analyst for its manager research team.
The $47 billion firm’s investment research team has 10 research analysts, comprised of five members on the traditional investments side and five on the hedge fund and private equity side.
The majority of the analysts are based in Boston, with two in Chicago.
The hedge fund research unit is led by Jigar Patel and Ohm Srinivasan, private equity by Daniel Criscuolo and Lester Duke and traditional investments by Scott Burg and John Tennaro.
Together, they craft an investment menu of around 60 strategies for the firm's advisors to use.
The traditional investments team is currently focused on finding more international equity managers for that menu going into 2018.
‘There have been other markets like Europe or Japan which have not recovered as fast as the US has and along with that, valuations are elevated in the US so there are potentially some more opportunities out there,’ said Burg, senior investment analyst of traditional investments.
He added that while the team currently has some international managers on the platform, the goal was to add more variety for advisors to build diversified portfolios.
Burg also said the team was actively searching for managers in the alternatives and inflation-protected spaces.
‘We’re looking at different vehicles, differentiated returns and differentiated asset classes as we go forward,’ he said.
The team recently added 10 strategies to the platform as a result of the acquisitions of PrivateBancorp and Geneva Advisors in 2017, which sparked platform unification.
