Former Citi Private Bank gatekeeper Brian Haynes has joined Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) as an investment strategies consultant.
Haynes is joining a 12-person team responsible for building and maintaining relationships exclusively with manager research teams in the broker-dealer, private bank, and defined contribution investment only (DCIO) record-keeping channels.
He will report to Chris Guerrieri, head of WFAM’s investment strategies team and be based in the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware office.
Haynes most recently served as a research analyst at Citi Private Bank from June 2011 to November 2017, conducting research on external money managers running separately managed accounts, US mutual funds and offshore funds. At Citi, Haynes was responsible for covering domestic and international fixed income, commodities, and real estate investment trusts (Reits) strategies.
Previously, he also served in roles including mutual fund due diligence analyst at Citi as well as trading specialist, training specialist and sales liaison at Smith Barney, according to his LinkedIn page.
A spokeswoman from WFAM confirmed that Haynes has joined the firm. Meanwhile, a spokeswoman from Citi confirmed his departure.
