Newton Investment Management has hired former UBS Asset Management head of investment solutions to serve as chief investment officer, amid wider changes to the company’s overall senior structure.
The move will see Curt Custard join on August 14 to serve in the newly-created post.
He left UBS in June 2016 after nine years with the firm. He has also previously served as head of multi-asset investment at Schroders.
The appointment comes against the backdrop of a senior shake-up at BNY Mellon-owned Newton, which will see a new senior management team put in place.
Julian Lynne has been named chief commercial officer, while Andrew Downs and James Helby remain chief operating officer and chief risk officer respectively.
They will sit alongside Hanneke Smits, who is chief executive officer, to form a new management team. The rearrangement is designed to reinforce governance and aid Newton’s further global growth.
