Fidelity Investments has added veteran portfolio manager Robert Stansky to the $2.2 billion Fidelity Advisor Stock Selector Mid Cap fund, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The global fund is subadvised by a series of Fidelity companies around the world. These are: FMR Investment Management (UK), Fidelity Management & Research (Japan), Fidelity Management & Research (HK) and Fidelity Management & Research Company.
Stansky is joining a team of portfolio managers including Shadman Riaz, Gordon Scott, Douglas Simmons, Pierre Sorel, Samuel J. Wald, Edward L. Yoon, Christopher Lin and John Mirshekari to co-manage the fund.
He is charge of assigning managers to sectors, managing daily cash flows, directing risk management and overseeing the portfolio. He will not select individual securities.
Since joining Fidelity in 1983, Stansky has worked as a research analyst and portfolio manager. He is best known for running the Fidelity Magellan fund from 1996 to 2005.
A Fidelity spokesman confirmed the content the filing but could not comment further at the time of publication.
