Northern Trust has added an analyst to its due diligence team, which is responsible for picking managers for the firm’s $120 billion global research platform used by wealth advisors and institutional clients.
Shravan Sharma has joined the division as an associate analyst covering external funds.
He was previously an investment performance analyst at the firm, running rate of return and attribution analysis for clients of Northern Trust’s institutional and wealth management businesses.
Sharma is now part of the multi-manager solutions team, which is led by chief investment officer of multi-manager investments Chris Vella.
The team is responsible for finding managers and monitoring their performance. This includes picking subadvisors for a range of multi-manager funds that Northern Trust offers institutional clients.
The global research platform currently holds 240 funds from external managers.
According to Vella, the team is looking to hire two more analysts in the near future.
Over the last three months it has seen two departures.
Last month, global equity due diligence analyst Margarita Triantafyllidou joined Morgan Stanley Wealth Management to be a manager research and due diligence analyst.
In July associate investment analyst Trent Cohen left to be a portfolio manager of multi-asset solutions at Citi Private Bank.
