SEI has made a hire from Russell Investments to boost its portfolio manager group.
David Hintz has joined SEI as a US Equity large cap portfolio manager, responsible for oversight of US equity large cap multi-manager funds.
He will be responsible for portfolio construction of the firm’s multi-manager funds, which use third-party managers selected by the research team led by Stephen Beinhacker.
Hintz reports to Jason Collins, global head of equity portfolio management in SEI's investment management unit.
Hintz was at Russell for nearly 25-years and was most recently a portfolio manager responsible for restructuring US large cap multi-manager funds, allocating capital to money managers and the launch of a US multi-factor fund.
Prior to his role as a portfolio manager, he was head of US equity research for three years, leading a team of manager research analysts who choose managers for the multi-manager funds.
In September, Citywire revealed that SEI was looking for a director of fixed income and multi-asset research.
The role will report to Beinhacker and will oversee the firm’s manager research team alongside Brad Mook, director or manager research on the equity side.
