Warren Koontz was born in Newark, Ohio, in 1961 and studied his finance degree at the Ohio State University in Columbus. Warren started his career in 1984 at the Public Employees’ Retirement System of Ohio while studying his MBA. Six years later he moved to The Jeffrey Company where he was a portfolio manager, vice president and treasurer. Prior to joining Loomis, Sayles & Company in 1995 he spent three years in Comerica Bank as senior portfolio manager and vice president. Warren is CFA and CIC Charterholder and a member of the Boston security analysts’ society. His investment style is based in a defensive, cyclical growth and value model. Away from investments he enjoys golf, music and reading.
