BlackRock has hired former Credit Suisse executive Philip Vasan to help it expand its client base within the wealth management community.
Vasan had been with the Swiss group for 23 years and was most recently its head of private banking for the Americas.
He will join BlackRock's US wealth advisory team in September as head of investments and portfolio solutions, according to an internal memo.
In this newly created role Vasan will be tasked with developing products and portfolios for wealth managers and advisors which will combine BlackRock's mutual fund and iShares range.
He will report to Salim Ramji, the group's head of US wealth advisory.
At Credit Suisse Vasna led its private wealth management in North America and Latin America and was instrumental in the sale of its US wealth management business to Wells Fargo in October 2016.
